1. Prepare an ENEX export
Export the notes you want to move from Evernote in ENEX format, and keep the original export as a backup. Asterive accepts Evernote ENEX/XML exports. An HTML export is not the Evernote import path. Start with a small representative group that includes formatted text, tags, and attachments so you can inspect the result before moving the rest.
2. Upload and review the preview
Sign in to Asterive and open Import existing notes from the new-note choices, the header, or Manage → Imports. Choose Evernote and upload the export. Review the detected notes, labels, and warnings. You can search the preview and choose which notes and labels to include before confirming.
3. Check the result before moving on
Confirming creates new notes in your account; it does not delete or synchronize your Evernote library. Open several imported notes and check their formatting and files. Supported attachments are verified before they become available. Unsupported or missing attachments can be skipped with warnings; review those warnings on completion or later in Manage → Imports.
Large exports and interrupted imports
Free accepts import files up to 25 MiB and previews up to 2,000 parsed notes; Pro accepts up to 100 MiB and 20,000 parsed notes. The resulting notes and files must also fit your account’s capacity. If an export exceeds the limit, create smaller exports in Evernote. Preview and import processing continue in the background; reopening Import recovers unfinished work after a refresh.
Duplicates, undo, and your backup
Uploading the same export again can create duplicates: Asterive does not automatically merge repeated notes. Retrying the same unfinished job is different and does not create a second batch. Manage → Imports offers batch-wide Undo, which removes the notes and exclusive files created by that import. Files still used by another note are kept. Retain the original ENEX until you have checked the migration.
